At the beginning of the 21st century, all the countries, in order to solve their own existing national problems, came up with the idea of an experimental city, and came together to discuss this plan. While discussing new policies such as; zero customs tax, a new joint administration, a completely independent and autonomous government structure; they unanimously decided that the main aim of Taion, the world's first joint experimental city, was to revive the economy.
It was established in 2014.
We were born and raised in this city.
But despite the world's best interests, Taion turned downhill as soon as it was brought to life. Creatures from the Other worlds; vampires, werewolves, demons and the like; quickly flocked to this city that was practically a standing invitation for a demonic rampage.
This city is now a whirlwind of crime, pain, murder, and fear.
This is a city where desperation and betrayal openly flows, where the sweat and tears of the weak flow in back alley drains --- a city where the word "Hope" has lost all meaning.
In this city, there is an area where immigrants from the economically ruined countries live and it's considered one of the worst areas.
In this city, the wealth gap grows wider and wider each day. The poor turn to crime in order to survive; therefore the number of dead is not small.
This city called Taion, has not had a single safe haven since the time we were born. The people's faces have lost their smiles; the gutter waters are completely polluted with industrial waste, strange smells emit from it.
The southern area, where different ethnic groups mingle, has the worst security. Living amidst poverty and hunger, the people only hope to live one more day; people involved in black market transactions; people who choose to die… Before we can even think for ourselves, one of these paths is already chosen for us. This is a destiny that those born in this city cannot escape from. Scenes where deranged people attack the rich, is not something new in this city.
In this kind of life, the hidden shadows of demonic mafias from various countries are felt. People who run businesses inevitably have to pay protection money, the more money they earn, the more they have to pay. Under the rule of the mafias, being properly fed and even the freedom to leave this city is not something that comes by easily. This is the truth behind this city.
In this city, not one policeman will extend a helping hand to its citizens. Only the people can protect themselves. All you need is cold hard cash, and you can choose any gun you like on the black market. Living a life where violence is a daily occurrence, even when your neighbours are murdered, no one will raise an eyebrow, instead frenzied rumours will be spread that the victims had brought it on themselves. The people, whose lives were taken, can only be said to be unlucky.
In this Taion, we live like the living dead.
